Teak Museum

Nilambur Teak Museum is known to be the world's first of its kind and its the only one teak museum in India. Its opened to the public on 21st of May 1995, from that day it has become one of the major attractions in Nilambur. The museum is located in the Bioresources Nature Park campus which is 4 kms from the Nilambur town.

Teak Museum exhibits a wide veriety of teak flowers, seeds, plants, and trees of different ages. It also hosts scientific information on teak plantation, harvesting, crafting, etc on its main two story building. You will also find a number of furnitures and crafts made using teak wood. The other attraction of the museum is its collection of around 300 varieties of butterflies and insects and detailed information on its regeneration process using the stuffed insects and butterflies of different ages.

Museum also exhibits the portraits of Chathu Menon, H.V. Conolly and T.F Bourdillion, who were the people behind the first forest plantation in India which is currently known as the Conolly's plot.
