BioResources Nature Park - Teak Museum

BioResources Nature Park and the Nilambur Teak Museum shares the same campus, and using one ticket you can visit the museum and enjoy the bio-diversity of the park. The Bioresource nature park is being managed by the Kerala Forest Research Institute.

The park is spread across a wide area of 10 hectare and it has a number of sub gardens and parks of the following types.
  • Orchid House
  • Hydrophytes Garden
  • Fern House
  • Thallophytes & Bryphytes House
  • Rock Garden
  • Xerophytes & Succelents House
  • Children's Park
  • Medicinal Plant Garden
  • Butterfly Garden
  • RET Species Garden
  • Monocot & Taxonomic Garden
  • Palm Garden
  • Edible Bamboo Garden
  • Gymnosperm Garden
  • Megalithic Burial Sites
All of these gardens are very attractive and eye-catching, especially the Bamboo garden and Orchid house. You'll find lots and lots of butterflies in the Butterfly garden, watching them flying in the garden from one flower to another is amazing.

Its really a very nice place to spend your time, especially your weekends if you're a nature lover. Monday is holiday for the park and museum, and the visiting hours are from 10 am to 4.30 pm.
